Nepete (Nepi)

Unless otherwise indicated, pictures on this page © Marco Prins and Jona Lendering. Photos can be downloaded and used for non-commercial purposes, but you have to acknowledge Livius.
Nepete (modern Nepi) was an Etruscan town, conquered in 383 VC by the Romans after the fall of Veii. It still boasts some ancient monuments, including Etruscan necropoles, remains of city walls, a Roman mausoleum, a catacomb, and this aquaduct (which the present author had to look at for several ours when his car broke down). Here you can see a satellite photo.
