It is impossible to capture the beauty of the plains of Phrygia on
a picture. Nevertheless, perhaps these three photos can give you some feeling
of the immense emptiness and impressive desolation. These mountains are
north of Sivrihisar and west of Phrygia's capital Gordium. |

follows the ancient Royal
road, which connected the capitals of the Persian empire (Persepolis
and Susa) with
Assyria,
Gordium, and finally Lydia's
capital Sardes. |
