Deir ez-Zor, Archaeological Museum

A nice museum with a good collection, documenting the excavations in the valley of the Euphrates in eastern Syria. I thought it was the best archaeological museum in the country. Among the objects are cuneiform tablets from Mari and finds from Dura Europos.

There are reports that the museum was looted in October 2012.

This museum was visited in 2008.
