Ramesses I comes to power after a career in the civil administration and the army
King Sety I embarks upon a series of campaigns, aimed at restoring the frontiers as they had existed in the days of Thutmose IV
King Ramesses II fight against the Hittites in Syria (Battle of Kadesh), concludes a peace treaty with them, and marries to a Hittite princess
He also builds many new temples and restores old sanctuaries
King Merenptah defeats the Libyans and their allies, the Sea People
King Sety II: civil war with Amenmesse
Last ruler is Queen Tausret
The new kings are the Twentieth Dynasty
